Description:
Uncle Bear, the website, was started in 1996 as a resource for roleplaying hobbyists, game designers, and those with related interests such as genre fiction, movies and comics. It's undergone a lot of changes over the years, always growing and evolving, and continues to be a popular stop on the Internet.

Berin Kinsman, the person, is a freelance writer, roleplayer, and modest fanboy. He entered the roleplaying hobby in 1978, and started writing roleplaying material semi-professionally in 1992. He was a regular contributor to White Wolf Magazine and Inphobia, but asks that you don't hold the latter against him. Under pseudonyms, he's written material for a whole bunch of game publishers and roleplaying magazines. He founded UncleBear.com in 1996, the same year a whole bunch of roleplaying game companies went out of business, although he maintains that's just a coincidence. He is currently working on his magnum opus roleplaying game system, Imagination's Toybox, which was originally announced around the same time Steve Jackson announced Hot Lead!, but will definitely be published first.
