Description:

The Moonlit Trod is a site devoted to the role playing game "Changeling: The Dreaming", often referred to as simply Changeling. Changeling is a sphere in the White Wolf World of Darkness role playing game system. The spheres can be played alone, or combined with each other, as the players wish. The other spheres are Vampire, Werewolf, Mage and Wraith.

The Changeling, sometimes more commonly called Fae or Faeries, live off the Dreams of mortals. Dreams and creativity give off Glamour, the life force of Changelings. Because of this, their world is often called "The Dreaming". The opposite of Glamour is banality. Banality is born of repetition, drudgery and a lack of the original. Banality is the bane of the Changeling, threatening their very existence.

The mortal world and the Changeling world are intertwined together, both existing at the same time. However, the world of the Fae is only visible to other Fae or to mortals who have been Enchanted. What appears as a car to mortals might be a magnificent drawn carrige with white horses to the Fae. Every item in the mundane world has an Enchanted appearance in the Changeling world. However, something known as the Mists will cause mortals to forget their Enchantment and all they might have seen while Enchanted. This is how the Fae protect their secret and hide from those who would hunt them down and destroy them.

Long ago, man and Changelings lived together in harmony. But, now the world is darker, there is less hope, fewer Dreams and Winter creeps in, threatening to destroy all that is left of the Fae.

This site was first opened in 1996 by Jane Lambert, in hopes that it might keep the Dreaming alive and growing. Jane is married with two young daughters, ages 3 and 5 who already show a great fondness for fairies, dragons and magical things. She is 38 years old and lives in Southern California.
