| Welcome to the homepages of the Irish Games Association. The IGA is a body which is dedicated to supporting and furthering the gaming hobby in Ireland. If the term "gaming" doesn't mean anything to you, you might want to start off by clicking on the "what is gaming" link to your right, where an attempt will be made to explain exactly what is meant by that term. The IGA engages in a number of activities designed to further it's stated aim of promoting gaming in Ireland, and has eveolved substantially over it's lifespan. Originally, the IGA was a group composed of different gaming interests from around the country who came together to organise an event known as Gaelcon. Since that time, a number of changes have taken place. While Gaelcon is still going strong and is entering its fourteenth year, the IGA have since expanded onto other fields. In general, the IGA seeks to help the gaming community in whatever way possible, be it by organising events, providing information, or offering what assistance it can to others who are working on behalf of the gaming community in Ireland. On this site, you will find information on some of the things that the IGA does to promote gaming in Ireland, as well as an introduction to the people involved. If you feel that the IGA may be able to help you with a particular gaming endeavour, or you wish to suggest a course of action which you feel would help gaming in Ireland, then don't hesitate to contact us. We are always looking for new ideas, and especially always looking for people to get involved. | |
