| Gathis is a shared world, where several Dungeon Masters (DMs) and their groups of Players will be able to adventure and explore. As the Players delve deeper into their own Player Characters (PCs) and the working of Gathis, they will soon discover that their actions not only affect their own group, but the other groups adventuring here as well. All rules that are released by TSR and WotC for use in AD&D 2nd edition might be used in the world of Gathis. The only reference materials needed while participating in Gathis will be the 2nd Editions of 3 books. Players will have to have the Player’s Handbook (PHB). Dungeon Masters will have to have the Dungeon Master’s Guide (DMG), and the Monstrous Manual (MM). The reasons for this are to provide the widest base possible for all in Gathis to have access to the same reference materials. When Gathis does depart from the standard rules set forth in these 3 books, it will be documented on this site. Any rules on this site will supersede any and all rules that may be found in the above-mentioned books. If for some reason, contradicting rules are discovered, Gathis will review the situation, and release the outcome of their findings on the Forums, or will revise the site content accordingly. If the standard AD&D rule applies, then the site page will be changed to reflect this. If it is determined that a House Rule is deemed to be more appropriate, and then it will be clarified and changed. There is a need for custom rules and references, in order to make Gathis unique and playable. These custom items shall be outlined on this site. Some elements of Gathis may closely resemble other existing AD&D material, however, they have been changed, and may not be what a player is used to. It would be beneficial if all participants in Gathis familiarize themselves with these new rules and standards. | |
